Codeine or alcohol dependence

During this time of uncertainty and change, there might be some New Zealanders out there that need a little bit of extra help. There are some people that for various reasons find themselves in a position where they are reliant on either taking daily codeine containing products such as Nurofen Plus and Panadeine Extra, or are finding themselves drinking a bit too much too often.

Those taking daily codeine containing products may now be struggling with the diminished access, and may find themselves experiencing uncomfortable symptoms such as:

  • Feeling irritable/anxious
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Teary eyes
  • Runny nose
  • Sweating more than usual
  • Yawning
  • Achy muscles
  • Upset tummy
  • Nausea and/or vomiting
  • Goosebumps.

Some people might also be used to having a daily alcoholic drink or two, and are now finding it difficult to slow down. They might also be experiencing a range of uncomfortable symptoms as a result including:

  • Shakes
  • Headaches
  • Nausea and/or vomiting
  • Feeling anxious
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Sweating more than usual.

If this sounds familiar to you, and you need some support to get through, we can help. Get in touch today.
