Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy: a safe treatment option.
TMS is a painless, effective, and non-invasive procedure known to improve symptoms of depression and other disorders for many people. It is an effective alternative treatment for those who experience depression, where other types of treatment have not worked. TMS can be used alongside other treatments for depression like medication and psychotherapy, or alternately if tolerability is an issue.
A course of treatment involves 20-30 sessions over several weeks, with each session usually only lasting a few minutes. During this process, our specialists will monitor your mood symptoms and hold regular clinician and psychiatrist reviews. Return courses of TMS as an effective maintenance therapy are also possible. Your psychiatrist at Re-centre can discuss the possibility of TMS with you further, as part of a comprehensive assessment and treatment package.
If you are nib insured, you may qualify to have TMS treatments covered by your insurance. Eligibility criteria applies. For more information click here.
